Mixing blades serve as a key unit for a large industrial concrete mixers, and are wearing parts as well. This article illustrates on the installation and maintenance large industrial concrete mixers, the safe and normal operation of which has a direct impact on progress of projects.
Notes on Installation of Mixing Blades for Large Industrial Concrete Mixers
1. The inclination angles of the blades must be consistent with each other. Reverse directions are forbidden.
2. The inclination angle mentioned above must be kept under a reasonable control. Excessively large or small angles will result in dissatisfying mixing effects. Therefore, the blades should form an angle between 70 and 80 degrees with the mixing axis. The best angle is by which the blades are buried under 20 to 30mm depth of mixed materials when the blades rotate to the very top.
3. Relative positions of mixing blades on two shafts should be of a 90 degree angle with those of painted surface of the mixing tank. In this way, the wall surface will not be damaged during the mixing process.
4. The mixing blades should be installed as tightly as possible, and the first screw must be especially tightened.
Notes on Maintenance of Mixing Blades for Industrial Concrete Mixers
The most common problems of mixing blades of a large industrial concrete mixer include wearing, bending and breaking.
1. In case of blade wearing, you need to cut off worn edges and weld steel pieces of the same size onto cut edges. Worn blades must be maintained and even replaced in time.
2. The bending and breaking of blades might be caused by insufficient hardness or weak shock resistance of blades. Therefore, you should either enlarge the blades’ diameter or adopt plain round steel.
