To cater for task requirement of some large construction projects, we are trying to develop truck mounted concrete pumps of increasingly large capacities. At present most concrete pump trucks in China have a theoretical pumping capacity between 100 and 125 metric meters per hour, the largest capacity reaches 150m3/h, and an even larger capacity of 200m3/h is also available from some international suppliers. Large concrete pumps are equipped with conveying cylinders of the largest diameters that are respectively 230mm, 250mm and even 280mm. The cylinders have excellent material sucking property and low stroke times, which reduces the wearing degree and eventually reduces maintenance cost.
There are two types of pumping methods available for a truck mounted concrete pump: high pressure&small displacement and low pressure&high displacement. Therefore, it’s the most important for an operator to learn how to make the truck exchange between the two. Traditional trucks uses a method of changing the cylinder to connect the hose, which not only wastes time and hydraulic shaft, but also pollutes the hydraulic system. Newly developed trucks are developed by a fully automatic high-low pressure switching technology. There is no need to stop the pump for pressure switching which can be finished in an instant. This technology greatly simplifies the pump operation.
The form of concrete distribution valve for a truck mounted concrete pump mainly includes S pipe valve and gate valve. In addition, various manufacturers have developed a variety of distribution valves, such as the Putzmeister C-type valve, Schwein's skirt valve and so on. In view of the fact that the aggregates used in construction in China are mostly gravel, domestic manufacturers have carried out some research on the wear resistance of wearing parts, adopting new wear-resistant materials, new processes and new technologies extend the service life of wear parts which used to be worn quickly and replaced frequently.
