What is a dry mix concrete batching plant

2021-05-27 13:59:03

A dry mix concrete batching plant is named compared to wet concrete mixing plants. It is more common in the international market, especially in the South American market, and hardly anyone uses it in China. The dry mixing plant is developed to reduce the investment in a concrete mixing plant, for the concrete mixer is excluded. After the materials are weighed, they are directly discharged into the mixing tanker, and then water is added to the tanker which rotates continuously to get the materials mixed during travelling. Such a concrete mixer truck is a little different from common ones. Above the tanker is a structure similar to a hopper, used to store materials such as cement, fly ash, and other materials. Next to it is a water tank. The aggregate is directly transferred to the tanker through the belt conveyor on the left.

The advantages of dry mix concrete batching plants are obvious. The exclusion of concrete mixer not only makes a plant cheaper, but also avoids the routine work of cleaning the mixer every time after the concrete production. Not to mention the maintenance work, which gets much simper without a mixer. Without the concrete mixing process, the efficiency of the plant is higher than wet plants of the same capacity. The main disadvantage of a dry mix concrete mixing plant is that the quality of the concrete produced can not be guaranteed. The tank of a mixer truck must rotate at a high speed to ensure full mixing of the materials, which will cause greater damage to the truck. In addition, extra mixer trucks will be needed to achieve a high capacity, which means extra cost. In fact, with the increasing requirements for concrete in various buildings, dry mix plants are being initially eliminated.
