Concrete batching plant layout plan

2020-04-02 15:03:56

Concrete batching plant layout plan should take site selection and reasonable design of the area into account. Details are as below.

A. Site Selection

First of all, it is crucial to choose a concrete production site near from main highways and roads. Solid raw materials, including aggregates, sand and cement, take up 90% of all raw materials, and their delivery cost prove to be a huge share in production cost. The nearer the site is from factories of these materials, the lower the delivery cost.

Second, water is second only to solid materials in consumption. It’s used not only in concrete production but also in daily life of people managing the site. Therefore, the site must be located in a place with rich water resource.

Third, electric equipment should be designed as reasonably as possible to cater for local voltage and electric devices. Only in this way can you reduce electricity consumption as much as possible.

Fourth, the site should be away from neighbourhood areas, for a concrete batching plant produces lots of dust and noise in operation. To make a plant more environmental, enclosed units and dust removers can be equipped, which is up to your practical needs, of course.

B. Site Design

First, the weighbridge metering device shall be as close to the gate as possible to facilitate transportation and metering. Bunker storage for aggregates is recommended to make sure that the forklift will not climb a slope, which helps to reduce fuel consumption.

Second, enough space should be left near the batching plant platform for concrete mixer trucks and truck washing machines. A sand and stone separator can be equipped nearby to reuse sand and stones washed off the trucks.

Third, pay special attention to vehicle parking. Corresponding parking lots for concrete mixer trucks, auto pumps, electric pumps and office cars should be designed and drawn with prominent lines on the ground. No random parking shall be allowed. Otherwise there might be unexpected accidents. Routes for each type of vehicles in the site are shall be reasonably planned to ensure that there is no interference between office work, material delivery, production and concrete delivery.

This is only a brief introduction to concrete batching plant layouts which entail pages of details. We will elaborate on them in following articles.
